We are what we repeatedly do- Aristotle.
We are not our one good moment. Nor are we our one bad moment. We simply are not our made up of these exceptions. This simple thought of Aristotle is the most condensed sentence I’ve ever read.
Because it includes everything. It explains everything. And this phrase manages to reply to a huge and eternal question “Who am I?”. You are simply put the sum of the choices you make.
We are our choices. The stable choices and the ones we repeat.
We are οur books

Adamantios Korais
We are our music
We are our opinions
We are our food choices

Candy cakes, London
We are the clothes we choose
We are our movies

Cine Paris, Plaka/Athens
We are our concerts, the plays and the films we watch

Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus, Greece
We are the people that inspire us
We are our opinions and our behaviours
We Are Our Big Loves.
We are our travels
And yes indeed.
The idea was always on my mind, but it was never the right timing.
It could be the long and crazy hours I was working. It might be the fact that it was never the proper momentum.
And here it is!
An experience blog. A bilingual blog.
A lot of people advised me to create a blog written just in English, claiming that having a bilingual blog is something very demanding. Plus, the english-speaking population is without doubt a larger audience.
And I smiled.
Stubborn since day one.
The language given to me was Greek
My house poor on Homer’s shores
Odysseas Elytis (Nobel Prize Winner) “Axion Esti”
I couldn’t but write in my native language, -probably- one of the greatest “languages” of the world.
In the most melodic and “creating images” language.
It would be a hypovricy.
It wouldn’t be me.
I can not but use this amazing alphabet with all the curves of “ξ» of “λ” of “γ”.
And I was explaining to a friend, who couldn’t speak Greek, while we were discussing the blog issue.
“You use a language that you have agreed that the word telephone is used for the telephone. On the contrary we know that the word telephone, comes from the word “tele” and “phone”, meaning the voice that comes from a distance. Greek is a language of images, that subconsciously sharpens the mind, because everything can be explained, everything has roots and a meaning… I love this language.
I had disarmed him. He smiled with confidence. And he nodded as if he agreed.
It will be bilingual, he said.
And now it’s ready.
And every line, every curve, has my personal touch and my aesthetics.
Many big loves that were brought together. Writing, reading, (to suck every word).
The music. The arts. The photography. Travelling. Special people.
Whatever make me fly in this life. A sharing experience.
And Happiness is happy…
Because from everything I’ve done so far this is more “me”.

Skyros island, Greece

“Souli” and “Elgin” coffee houses were my favourite spots during the phase of creation of WAWWD. Here at Elgin with “macaroni” (Yes indeed, even my laptop has a name!)
A big thank you to all the people that helped in creating WAWWD and to all my friends and family that supported this madness since day one…
I hope you enjoy the read and godspeed on this journey of the mind and the heart !
