Christmas.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The festive period in London starts earlier. A lot earlier. It’s colourful and bright… It’s everywhere…<\/p>\n

Christmas here have something magical, something different, something nostalgic and retro. With shops that have been around for more than a few centuries, London can boast of its ability to freeze time and to play this great time and mind games while taking the biggest feast of Christianity to another level.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The faitytale begins here\u2026. Welcome to Fortnum and Mason.<\/p><\/div>\n

Fortnum and Mason<\/a> is located at 181 Piccadilly Street and it\u2019s a living legend<\/strong> (often shortened to simply “Fortnum’s” by Londoners). As soon as you enter you will realise that Fortnum\u2019s is a lot more than simply a deli or a department store.<\/p>\n

Fortnum\u2019s<\/strong> opened its doors in 1707 thanks to William Fortnum and Hugh Mason. William Fortnum was working in the royal household of Queen Anne as a footman.<\/p>\n

The Royal Family\u2019s persistence on having new candles every night presented the opportunity to the young Fortnum to resell the half-used wax. He then convinced his landlord, Hugh Mason, to become his business associate, and they founded the first Fortnum & Mason<\/strong> store in St James’s Market in 1707.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Since then many things have changed but one thing remains the same: Fortnum\u2019s is synonymous with high aesthetics, with unparalleled quality and it remains one of the best upmarket department stores in London.<\/strong><\/p>\n
